Nicholas Crigler (1722-1789) and Margaret Kaifer (1725-1771)

 

Nicholas Crigler and Margaret Kaifer were born in Virginia and died in Madison County, Virginia.  They married in Madison County in 1749.

The Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison, Virginia, pictured here in 2012, was established in 1740 and is the oldest continuously-operating Lutheran Church in the U.S.  Margaret Crigler's date of birth in 1759 is written in church records.  Records also show that John Adam Gaar served as a deacon in 1768, and that Nicholas Crigler was one of the church officers in 1776.
