John Kendzierski (1848-1935) and Mary Szajdzik (1856-1927)

 

John Kendzierski and Marianna "Mary" Szajdzik were born in Poland and died in Detroit, Michigan.  Mary was born in Zdziechowa, near Gniezno.  They married in Gniezno in 1875.

 

John's parents: Jacob Kędzierski and Mary Bartek

Mary's parents: Mathias Szajdzik (1812-1869) and Marianna Nitka (1826-1868)

  • Marianna "Mary" Kendzierski (1880-1962) married Peter Gutowski (1877-1940)
  • Helen Kendzierski (1883-1967) married Frank C. Derowski (1884-1970)
  • Stanislaus "Steve" Kendzierski (1884-1966) married Anna Gossman (1889-1941)
  • Josephine Kendzierski (1886-1976) married John Voytko (1896-1962)
  • Tekla Kendzierski (1889-1969) married Elmer A. Barnowsky (1888-1973)
  • Victoria Kendzierski (1892-1973)
  • Theresa Kendzierski (1894-1968)

 

US Census records:

  • 1910, 1268 Joseph Campau Ave., Detroit, Michigan; John, Mary, four daughters, and two nephews in the household; John’s occupation is laborer at a car foundry.
  • 1920, 1268 Joseph Campau Ave., Detroit, Michigan; John, Mary, and four daughters in the household; John’s occupation is helper at a wheel foundry.
  • 1930, 7796 Helen St., Detroit, Michigan; John and four daughters in the household.
The family came to America about 1884 and settled in Manistee, Michigan.  They moved to Detroit between 1900 and 1910.
 

John and Mary are buried with daughters Rose, Josephine, Victoria, and Theresa, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery (Section 32, Lot 13), 17100 Van Dyke St. (at McNichols Rd.) in Detroit.
